Summer Shooting……..

Despite the Atlanta heat, I think summer may be my favorite time for photo sessions. I know for me personally, the time off and relaxed schedules seem to give me the opportunity to really notice the changes in our constantly changing boys. I think because it is easy to remember and think, “oh last summer, he wasn’t diving”, or “wow, he loves to sit and read,” and definitely the energy level goes up every summer, but that’s another story. Anyway, besides the normal process, thoughts and observations I go into every photo session with, in the summer, I also carry some nostalgia with me. A sense of stopping time a bit to check in and notice what’s really up. Just a different way of connecting with my subjects.

I adore this session. I wish I had the room on the blog to show ya the whole shoot. I adore these boys too. Their mama gave me free reign to catch her guys just as they are. They even dressed themselves and we just hung out. So, this shoot is a bit less styled and more photojournalistic than some of my sessions. I love both types equally, because no matter what, I am always looking for soul and authenticity when I photograph. We designed a Gallery Stretched Canvas wall with some of the portraits from the shoot. I’ll be sure to show it to you once they get it hung on the wall. We’re also designing a Summer 2010 Coffee Table Album. It will be an instant heirloom and a perfect keepsake from Summer 2010.
