I’ll call this photo Perspective. When I took this shot, I thought, awww, what a sweet and inspirational sign, sitting there all cute with the lattice and greenery. Right this second though, I’m thinking it’s kind of hokey. Just depends on your perspective I guess.

I keep meaning to check in here. Jack has been back in school for 3 weeks now. Garrett started pre-K this week. I hated for the summer break to end and the shortness of it all, but being scheduled again is pretty nice too. Life is moving along exactly as it should. “To everything turn, turn, turn” and all of that. Seems that with the start of a new school year, I always notice the boys change in ways that are pretty subtle and some not so subtle. I guess it’s being away from them for part of the day that makes me able to pick up on their subtly changing selves. The differences in them every year aren’t good or bad, just new. More independent, more vocal, more temperamental, more funny, more noisy. Just more. Everything always kind of changes and then we all adjust again. Even with all the more though, I’m their mama, so I’ll always be able to find that baby in ‘em. Even if it’s just for the 5 minutes when they first get in the house and it’s still quiet. They are hot and tired so I have a chance to smell their necks and get a big hug or cuddle while they eat a snack. 5 - 10 minutes is about it. Then the homework and pleading for friends to come over or whatever comes next starts up. Yep. Busy stuff. Garrett is taking Tae Kwon Do and loves it. Jack is playing football and loves it as well. Lots of running around but still lots of times for fun, friends and life. I keep meaning to blog more and now that we’re settling, I should be better about it. I have lots of shoots to post and randomness to share, just haven’t been so great about sitting and doing it. I’m sitting at my desk to edit, work and email. Other than that, I’m kind of bleh with the computer lately. I’ll be back to blogging better soon. Have a wonderful weekend my friends!

Lets see…what to say here??? I’ll just start. Susan and her family moved here to Georgia about a year and a half ago. A mutual friend of ours (Miss Ellen, who btw, really deserves her own blog post here), said I absolutely have to meet this new gal in town. She set Susan and I up on a play date. Let me tell ya, we hit it off before we even met in person. Like over email. So fast forward to our play date and we were screaming, giggling and interrupting each other as if we’d known each other our whole lives. I completely adore this woman!!!! Susan is a gal’s gal. She is a one of a kind, understanding friend and will always be in your corner. We have much in common and think so much alike. Of course I love that, but I also dig where we are different. Where I tend to lean towards the gloomy, moody side of things to work my sh*% out, Susan is a positive soul. And not in an unrealistic way. I truly admire that quality about her and always soak up all of that awesome energy whenever I’m around her. Her view of schtuff and energy about life is so contagious. She is dynamic and passionate about the big and little things in life. So, yeah, I love this woman. That’s just a bit about my friend Susan.

I had the extreme pleasure of getting to take some “business” portraits for Susan recently. She is a yoga instructor. She brings the same passion she has for life into her teaching and practice. Her studio is perfection and full of joy and love. Her main focus is to make her students feel completely special and taken care of. ( just as she does with her friends and family). Head2Zen is Susan’s newest baby. Head2Zen is a way for Susan to fully incorporate her yoga studio into something even more. There will be classes of course, some amazing get away trips as well. And, it’s all only just beginning, so who knows what else? Basically it will be a kick arse ever changing way for Susan to express herself and bring her love of a laid back/livin’the good life/yoga lifestyle to folks. Be sure to connect with her and stay in the know with what is going on around Head2Zen. I’ll keep you posted as well. I so love the relationship I have with this family. The trust and openness we have together really comes through in our sessions. We always end up getting some of my favorite moments. I’ll share more from this shoot soon. Below, Baby Jillian and Daddy…..

What fun it was putting this shoot together! Models Danielle and Katherine are top notch pros. The fabulous Brenda Sottile is stylist supreme. Top it all off with a fantastic location like The Art Barn and what a wonderful memory.

Walking in to Peach State Orchids is pretty impressive. They have orchids of all kinds of varieties and they are taken care of beautifully. The staff is beyond helpful and put up with my endless questioning. I did end up going for it and am the proud owner of a gorgeous orchid that flowered for over a month. I just can’t remember it’s name. The staff at Peach State will repot your orchid for you when it’s time for that. Orchids are very slow growing though, so they do not need repotting often. Just one of the many orchid facts I learned that day.

If you are an orchid lover, or are thinking of becoming one, Peach State Orchids is the place to go. They would also be a wonderful resource for a designer, a bride, a wedding planner, or an event planner. Since I was coming from a shoot, I had my camera on me…..so I have photos.
