So, it goes without saying that Isabelle was a blast to photograph. She is of course beautiful. Besides having outer grace and strength, she has an inner grace and strength that come through the second you meet her. And she is fuuuun to hang out with too!!!! Definitely be sure to match your schedule up to Isabelle’s if you are a yoga enthusiast. Or, if yoga has been on your list of to do’s. Tell her I said hi!

I’m really excited about the new Scentsy Spring/Summer catalog. It became available March 1st. There are so many amazing new fragrances in this catalog. I have testers of all of these if you’d like to smell the latest. And Scentsy has really out done themselves with their new warmers too! So many fun ways to brighten up your home for the new season. I’m in love with the monthly special for March. This month it is a buddy instead of the usual warmer. His name is Wellington the Duck. He has been super popular. I think he’d be adorable in an Easter basket. A scent pack of your choice is included with Wellington. And yes, his little raincoat and hat do come off for sleeping. :-).

Happy 2012!!! The boys started back to school yesterday and it feels nice to be back to a schedule. I hope your holidays were restful and filled with love. Ours was wonderful and we made some sweet family memories for sure this year. Jack even said this was his favorite Christmas and New Years ever, so that’s good to hear as a mama, especially since  it was spent pretty low key and with us just spending lots of time together and with friends and family. Love that!

Here’s all you need. A hole punch, your cards and a sewing machine. Even if you don’t sew, I bet you know someone that has a machine. Oh, Mandy says use a 01 type of setting on the machine since you’re only sewing through paper.

Here’s cute Mandy and a view of the fun garland draping around the kitchen. Mandy dresses pretty fancy when she sews. Just kidding, I caught her on the way out the door to a holiday tea. About 30 minutes from my destination, I spotted the most beautiful roadside farmer’s market. I wanted to stop for a visit, but immediately heard my brain say, “naahhh, just hurry up. You’re almost there.” I caught myself in that moment and whipped my car in to the veggie stand’s dirt driveway. When I got out of my car, I was enveloped in a silence that I haven’t “heard” in a long time. Just quiet. Hot temperatures like it was still summertime, bees buzzing and all that heavenly quiet. In an instant, I realized “guuuurrrrl, you’ve gotten yourself so busy, you’ve forgotten what’s important!” I’ve always been someone that believes in my heart that usually the loud, busy things going on are not so “important”. But the quiet, uneventful things are the most important…..the most memorable. To me anyway. And I’ve let myself become flip flopped lately. I’ve been in “Git ‘er done” mode for quite a few months now. I was immediately so grateful for that still small voice that made me stop. I was feeling grounded again.

I started to walk around and saw a stunning field of sunflowers in the distance. I thought of my camera in the car and how I haven’t taken photos just for myself in a very long time. I then heard my “loud” side say, “oh, what a cliche, taking photos of sunflowers. plus stopping to take pictures is only going to hold you up from getting there.” So, I decided to get my head out of my arse and went back to the car to get my camera. And I breathed deeply and adored every minute walking amongst those cliched sunflowers. That break was just what I needed to reset myself. It was such an incredible moment, that even now, a few weeks later, I am still thinking of those sunflowers and looking deeply at what I think is important and not important. My views of that are probably different for me and my loved ones than they were a few years ago, heck, maybe even a few months ago, minutes ago. But that’s great! I love that. I’m actually someone who loves change! I love the feeling of shaking off the old and embracing the new. Realizing that something isn’t working any longer or that a new way is working and shaking things up a bit. And usually the shaking up isn’t some major event, it’s often small, as in a new realization, opinion, outlook, or point of view and beginning to wear it around until it’s time to change it all over again. hee!

So, this was long…..I really just came here to try to start catching up on my blog and post some pictures of sunflowers….and this is what came out. It was pretty magical, and then I bought a coke and mini homemade chocolate pecan pie. As I sat and ate outside, I felt so very grateful for grace and my life and everyone and everything in it. It was the perfect start to one of the most warm, nostalgic, hysterical and delightful weekends ever. Happy weekend to you!
